Sarasota, FL – (October 17, 2016) – Robert “Bob” Cave, the V.P. of Operations and a Professional Engineer at Quest Design Group (QDG), is presenting at the American Institute of Architects Florida Gulf Coast chapter on Thursday, October 20, 2016.
The topic of the presentation will be the new 2014 Florida Building Code, Fifth Edition, Chapter 4 Energy Conservation as it applies to the commercial building envelope and to the commissioning requirements for mechanical and electrical systems. Mr. Cave’s straightforward presentation will clarify the new energy requirements of the Florida Building Code.
“This is a complex topic not well understood by the local construction industry, says Mr. Cave, “Anything we can do to better understand the Florida Building Code will highly improve our industry.”
A one-hour continuing education unit CEU will be offered to those attendees who need to meet their educational requirements of their Architectural Licensing Board.

This is Mr. Cave’s second presentation to the AIA Florida Gulf Coast this year. On August 18, 2106 Mr. Cave addressed the basics of Geothermal Heating and Cooling systems as they apply to the Florida climate.
