Sarasota, FL – Quest Design Group (QDG) recently designed the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems for the newly-opened Grove Restaurant in Lakewood Ranch. The project was run out of QDG’s Sarasota office.
The project involved renovating the dining, bar and kitchen areas of the previous tenants in the space, the Polo Grill Restaurant. Services provided by QDG included engineering design for the existing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems.
“A critical part of this project was upgrading the HVAC systems to meet current ventilation and humidity control standards,” says Chris Baker, QDG’s Vice President of Engineering. “The existing systems would have been unable to meet the client’s exacting requirements for guest comfort.”
QDG also provided designs for upgraded lighting and power systems to match the architects’ floor and ceiling plans, as well as for the domestic hot and cold water, waste/sanitary and vent piping systems.
The Grove restaurant encompasses 27,000 square feet and employs more than 100 people. The owner, Hugh Miller, who also owns the Pier22 waterfront restaurant in Bradenton, opened the restaurant with General Manager and Executive Chef, Greg Campbell.
